TripAdvisor:

Petter-Andre, august 2024:  “ A great museum with a fantastic presentation, also for children. The adventurous story of  Thor and his colleagues is known worldwide, but in this museum, it really comes to life. Worth a visit!” * * * * *

Sarah, juli 2024: “ I'd heard about the Kon Tiki expedition in school (in the UK) and this was a real trip down memory lane for me! The exhibits are well translated into English so it's easy to understand and follow. ” * * * *

Bernard, juni 2024: ” Ever since I was a young boy, I have been fascinated by Thor Heyerdahl’s Kon-Tiki expedition. I even had the board game. Getting to visit the museum and see the raft and equipment 50 years later was just so awesome. The museum does not disappoint and is very well put together. I particularly liked the commentary provided for children - an excellent innovation. A visit to this museum when visiting Oslo is a must!” * * * * *

Mikey C., August 2024: “ Went as part of Oslo Pass. Out of the 3 museums I found this on the most interesting. Fascinating how the Kon Tiki, RA I, RA I and Tigris were built and stories of their journeys. The Kon Tiki was a lot bigger than I thought it was. How any of the rafts and boats crossed the ocean was a miracle. I recommend at least visiting thus museum. Well worth it.” * * * * *

Michael Z., July 2024: “ A delightful museum. Many real exhibits with fascinating histories. You can watch documentary footage of the journey in the museum. It is highly recommended to watch the feature film about this journey before your visit. If you haven’t visited the nearby museums, this is a great opportunity to visit several delightful museums at once! Highly recommended!” * * * * *

Corey R., June 2024:” This museum was much more interesting than we expected. We got a combo ticket for the Fram museum and the Kon-Tiki museum. The Kon-Tiki museum told the story of an expedition in 1947 from Peru to Polynesia as well as other expeditions. The best part for us was that down low along the walls of the exhibits was the story written in a fun way for kids. When we got in to the museum, my kids (ages 9 and 12) were given a page of multiple choice questions to fill out as they made their way through the museum, and they received a prize for completing their papers. They loved it! We also watched the hour long documentary, and my kids enjoyed that as well. The rafts on display were really neat to see. It is hard to believe that the explorers were able to travel so far in rafts made out of simple materials.” * * * * *
